Why you should install raised loft boarding
For maximum efficiency, it is recommended that a minimum of 270mm of insulation is installed in lofts. Installing loft floorboards directly to the joists will compress loft insulation, significantly reducing thermal efficiency and increasing heat loss. Installing raised loft boarding, such as LoftZone StoreFloor, will ensure the thermal efficiency of loft insulation is not compromised and creates a ventilation gap to prevent condensation below the boards.

We recommend and install LoftZone StoreFloor raised loft flooring. This innovative BBA approved system uses legs and rails to create a strong base for the loft floorboards with space below for the recommended minimum 270mm of insulation and a ventilation gap.
StoreFloor is suitable for properties of all ages. It is currently the only raised loft boarding system with BBA approval and it does not invalidate new build home warranties.
